Jennifer Howse and Lin Butler

New York - USA

5 August

I met Jennifer and Lin at the Cape Grace Hotel and we started out on a winelands tour. We traveled via Plattekloof where the below scanned picture of the ladies with the whole of greater Cape Town behind them was taken.

We traveled to Franschhoek where we stopped at Le Petit Ferme for lunch. After lunch we took a slow drive through Franschhoek stopping in at the Franschhoek Chocolate factory. As we left the chocolate factory I stopped at the Corkscrew Antique shop intending to surprise Lin and Jennifer with what was inside the shop. Little did I know that Jennifer was an avid corkscrew collector so a great amount of fun was had by all in the shop.

Here we see Jennifer in front of the Corkscrew collection

Lin looking around at all the small wonders in the antique shop.

After visiting Franschhoek we traveled on to Stellenbosch where we took a look at the university and all the wonderful buildings in the village. We then traveled on to Kaya Mandi where we met  Armstrong (my friend in Kaya Mandi). He took us on a walk through the township and we eventually ended up at the highpoint being the foundations of the Church of Zion building. The whole Kaya Mandi journey was a very emotional one and I clean forgot to take some pics for this page.

After Kaya Mandi we traveled back to the Cape Grace.

This was a rather short but pleasant tour. Lin and Jennifer were great company and all in all we had a fabulous day.

Thanks Lin and Jennifer and a BIG thank you for your generous donation to the people of Kaya Mandi.

Dear Selwyn,

Hello from NYC.

We are just returned from our most wonderful South Africa sojourn/safari.
The meetings in Johannesburg were very satisfying and we think, productive.
You are a wonderful country and we have the deepest respect and admiration
for your strong spirit in creating your future.

We've also just visited your web page and downloaded our part. It was great
fun. Thank you.

We are telling everyone what a wonderful place it is to visit and hope for a
return ourselves.

All the best to you, Selwyn.

Jennifer and Lin.
