Sonoma Valley - California

This was a great tour with all enjoying themselves immensely. Much fun was had in the tourbus and many wonderful spots were visited by us during the two day event. It must have been a fun event as this was the time when Gore and Bush were fighting out the electoral count in Florida and even with the presidency being in the balance all we could talk about was Cape Town and South Africa. After all who cared about who was going to be the next American president with such wonderous beauty and fun filled happenings going on all around us. J
When taking this picture at Plasier de Merle, Carol said that she had to be quoted when she jokingly said "Look we are not working". In the picture we see Carol, Paul, Linda and Kim.
A photgraph of the avid floral photograper Paul with Linda in the background wandering whether she should follow her dad's photographic example.
While Crystal, who works at the Cheetah Foundation at Spier winefarm, kept a watchful eye over the purring Inca, Linda and Kim stroked his back with Paul and Carol looking on. A couple of minutes before this picture was taken Paul and Carol were stroking Nyana.
Taking in the glorious weather at the Cape Town Waterfront with Table Mountain looming majestically in the background.
Enjoying the penguin colony at Boulders Beach in Simonstown.
Everyone had a good laugh when they saw the notice on this trashcan at the penguin colony.
Look behind the happy foursome so as to see who we found on the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve!
While visiting the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve Kim tried to prove to the world that Bontebok (Antelope) can be photographed from close up. J
While travelling on the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve we stopped and found this friendly Cape angulate tortoise. Here we see Kim stroking his (we think it was a "him") J back while Paul records the event
Look everybody we are at Cape Point J.
Just to prove that me made it to Cape Point we decided to take this picture. J

Hi Paul, Carol, Linda and Kim,
Four days ago I had the immense pleasure of taking you all around the Cape Town city centre and its surrounds including the a trip up Signal Hill at night. (Thanks Linda for the suggestion) To me it was very special having to guide you all in my wonderful city and I thank you all for gracing me with your presence and being such a wonderful group to guide.
WE, TOO, HAD THE IMMENSE PLEASURE OF BEING GUIDED BY THE BEST TOUR GUIDE. WE FEEL THE SAME WAY THAT YOU ARE A VERY SPECIAL TOUR GUIDE, AND YOUR LOVE FOR CAPE TOWN DEFINITELY SHOWS.
When I guide folk through my city my true joy comes from seeing smiling
faces from the stories and history that I tell my visitors about my beloved
country and home city. You all continuously showed this attitude and this is what really made the trip so special for me. I sincerely hope that it did
the same for you all too.
IT DID AS I STATED ABOVE.
I also want to comment on something that happened as we parted on Saturday evening revolving around the handsome tip that you wanted to give to me that I rejected. Please understand that I was NOT being rude and unappreciative. I thoroughly appreciate all your actions; it is just that I dont work for tips; I tour for the enjoyment of seeing smiling faces in my wonderful city when I show it to my visitors. That to me is the biggest tip I could ever get and my pride in what I do swells when this happens. You guys surely made sure that this prize was there for me on so many occasions as we toured through the city and its surrounds. This is in its own right was the most wonderful tip I could have got from you and you produced it with first class honours. For this I thank you highly.
SELWYN, YOU DO NOT NEED TO APOLOGIZE. WE TOTALLY UNDERSTAND. IT WAS JUST THE
THOUGHT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT YOU GAVE US MORE THAN WE EXPECTED. BUT WE NOW REALIZE THAT WE ALL KNEW THAT.
All in all what more can I say other than it was such an honour to have to
you grace my city with your presence with me as your guide that I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart. May all my visitors be like the
Nelson and Kim Price!
I trust that you are having a great vacation right now at Nyala Game Reserve and that you will have a good flight back to California.
Now to refresh your memories as to what we did while you were in Cape Town please look at the attachments as they all tell a full blooded story. Kim and Linda please note that I have not sent you all the extra PICS that I took as they are all duplicates of a sort of those on the travel webpage.
THE ATTACHMENTS ARE GREAT AS IS YOUR WEB PAGE.
Once again a massive thank you for all while you were in Cape Town with me.
I hope and trust that one day we will meet up again however I can assure you that we shall be meeting quite frequently on the email lines.
Lots of love from Cape Town.
THANK YOU, SELWYN, FROM ALL OUR HEARTS.
PAUL, CAROL, LINDA AND KIM
