I met JP and Jennifer at the Cape Town airport and we made our way to Camps Bay Terrace where they were to rest for the next 3 nights. A soon as they had settled in I took them to the Cape Town Waterfront where they spent the rest of the day at their own time looking around the Waterfront stores and enjoying the vibe of a public holiday (Freedom Day) in the Waterfront

Day 2

Cape Peninsula Tour

We started off our tour day by stopping in at Newlands rugby ground and then going to the Newlands shop where JP bought himself a Springbok sweater

We stopped in at the Money Tree Restaurant in Kalk Bay for snoek fish cakes and salads

JP, Jennifer and Russel (a local fisherman) at the Kalk Bay Harbour

The happy couple at the Gemstone factory outside Simonstown.

Jennifer poses with Mr. Penguin J at the penguin colony

Yup we made it to the Boulders beach so as to see the penguins

I took this photo at a rather misty Cape Point of Jennifer and JP in front of the Cape of Good Hope

Jennifer buying pieces at "The Statues.

Now which one should we take home??  J

We had dinner at Bibi's restaurant where I took the above photo

Day 3

Cape Winelands Tour

We started off our day at Mnandi's fabrics where Jennifer had a ball selecting fabrics for the new Olonyk home. Just take a look at JP's newly found shirt - Is it going to rock the folks back home or what!!. J J

The future Olonyks meet Kaya the cheetah with Kulanie watching over all.

Jennifer and JP in the cellars of Rust en Vrede

Winetasting at Rust en Vrede

We stopped in at Kayamandi and started our journey at the St.Johns Water church

That evening we had dinner at the Jewel Tavern where JP (in Springbok colors) took on Jennifer (in Canadian colors) in a chopsticks duel. J J

Even though the next two pictures are slightly out of travel sequence I felt that they would be a nice way to end this page with Jennifer and JP enjoying champagne at sunset with Table Mountain and the greater Cape Town region in the background.

The future Olynyks were a wonderful couple to tour with. They were so easy going and brought wonderful intelligent conversation to our times in the vehicle together. I thoroughly enjoyed showing them around my city and can but only hope that they felt likewise. All in all a VERY enjoyable tour.

Thanks for a great tour of Cape Town and its surrounds. We had a lovely time and have both agreed that it will be a return destination at some point. We did get up Table Mountain Thursday morning and spent about 2.5 hours exploring, ending up by meeting the Jamaican soccer team as they were also enjoying the sights.

One word of warning to any Americans - ostrich eggs are no longer allowed entry into the USA - ours was confiscated at the border!

Thanks again for a great tour.
