After our arrival we all went on a tour of the Port Elizabeth area and we also stopped in at my old friend Doris Humphreys's cottage in Sappershoek.  Here we see a picture that I took of Mary, Doris and Freddy outside Doris's house.

Day 6
3 October 2002

Travel to Cape Town via Kayamandi

We left Hermanus and travelled via the town of Stellenbosch so as to stop in at Kayamandi where the below photos were taken.

In Stellenbosch I took this picture of Freddy and the Cafe cat

We travelled to Cape Town and booked into Avanti guesthouse. I then bade Mary and Freddy farewell as Brian took over their tour from thereon.

Mary and Freddy were such easy travellers to tour with that our whole journey was one of absolute joy. We shared so much together and I was very happy to know that Freddy was also seeing new places and experiencing new events that she had not seen on her previous visit to Cape Town. Mary and Freddy were always very easy going with what we were doing on tour and with their wonderful ways and mannerisms of doing things it was very hard for this tour to ever fail. What a great time we all had together and for this I can but only say,

Thank you for your email, and for giving us such a wonderful time. Addo only added
to the adventure. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Brian too, and look
forward to those pictures when he has time. We send our greetings to Ludwig and
Riette and wonder if the new house is now finished.  I'll be thinking of Mary
enjoying her breakfast overlooking the lagoon. I wish I was there! I have spoken
to Mary Clementson since she got back to the UK and she was absolutely thrilled with
everything you had organised for us. She also really appreciated her two days
relaxing at Lemon Tree Lane, in those lovely surroundings.

Continuation of tour with Brian at the helm.
