I met Dave and Lynn at Cape Town airport in the early evening. We travelled to the Radisson Hotel where they were staying and after they had settled in we went to the Africa Cafe for dinner where a wonderful meal was had by all.

Lynn and David pose for a picture with Lena from the Africa Cafe.

24 September

Cape Winelands tour

We travelled in the direction of Paarl as a start to our Winelands adventure

We stopped at Plattekloof and took this panoramic photo of Dave and Lynn with Cape Town at their feet.

We stopped at the Afrikaans Language monument where I took this photo of Lynn with a King Protea.

We then travelled to Seidelberg winefarm so as to sample their wines.

After our visit to Seidelberg we stopped in at Cotage Fromage for a wonderful cheese lunch

Straight after lunch we travelled to Muratie Winefarm where I took this picture of Dave and Lynn.

We then travelled past Vredenheim winefarm and stopped on the side of the rood to view the game on the farm. Take a look at Lynn in the rear view mirror "snapping" away at the animals  J  while Dave gives the camera a big smile.

We stopped in at the Cheetah farm as can be seen from the above picture.

We then visited Kayamandi where the following two pictures were taken.

25 September

Whale watching at Hermanus.

We drove out to Hermanus via the False Bay coastline and returned via Sir Lowry's Pass

We stopped in at Stoney Point where we enjoyed the penguin colony as the following two pictures attest.

In Bettys Bay we stopped in at Wynand and Engela Mouton so as to view their wonderful garden

We then went on to Hermanus to view whales. Wow did we see whales. Take a look at the next 3 pictures and see for yourself. J

While spotting whales I took this picture of Dave and Lynn with the waves crashing on the rocks below us.

After our whale watching we returned to Cape Town via the peregrine Farm stall and eventually Sir Lowry's Pass. While coming down Sir Lowry's Pass we experienced a fantastic Cape sunset which I unfortunately could not photograph as I was driving K

Lynn and David were great to travel with because they were open to all suggestions and welcomed surprises. The result was that their tour was quite an adventurous one which not only made the event enjoyable for them but it also made the whole tour fabulous for me too. All in all one cant go wrong on a our with wonderful people like Dave and Lynn.

DAVE AND LYNN THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING SUCH GREAT PEOPLE TO TOUR WITH.

AN EVEN BIGGER THANK YOU FOR YOUR VERY KIND DONATION TO THE FOLK OF KAYAMANDI.

Hi Selwyn,

Thanks again for your guidance in and around Cape Town. You provided so
much more than we ever expected! Cape Town (and South Africa) is a
wonderful place and we hope to visit again some time. Dave is even
fantasizing about retiring there!

Your photos look great. You did a wonderful job on the panorama and I like
the way you caught me in the side-view mirror of the car while you were
photographing Dave.

We enjoyed exploring the city on our own on Thursday. We basically followed
your plan (the high tea at the Mount Nelson Hotel was great) and enjoyed it
immensely. We had perfect weather for Table Mountain and got some great
sunset photos from up there. We'll send you a link to our photos when they
are ready.

Thank you so much,
Lynn
