Alex Lurey and Brian Schultz

Atlanta and Seattle - USA

4 February 2003

I met Brian and Alex at their place of stay with Renee and Ronnie Joffe (Fresnaye Sea Point). On arrival at the house Brian was feeling rather nauseas and Alex did not look to well either. We decided to go out on tour and see if matters would improve healthwise. Unfortunately this did not happen and when we got to Fish Hoek we decided to return top Fresnaye and in the process finish the tour that we intended on the forthcoming Friday

We took this picture at Fish Hoek on our first day just before we turned back.-
These guys dont look nauseas but you believe me they certainly were! J

5 February 2003 - Wednesday

The following day I fetched 2 healthy visitors to Cape Town in Fresnaye as we started to repeat our previous day's journey

We took this picture in the Kalk Bay harbour

We visited the penguin colony at Boulders Beach and took the below photos

We travelled on to the Cape of Good Hope where the following pictures were taken

We stopped in at "the Statues where Brian and Alex bought some lava stone statues

Kommetjie looked great on the day and I managed to capture this photo of the Brian and Alex in front of the  wonderful scenery

We travelled on to Cape Town and ascended Table Mountain where I took the above sunset photo.

GREAT DAY.

5 February 2003 - Friday

On this day we did a Winelands tour

We first stopped in at Middelvlei winefarm so as to sample their great Pinotage.

After our journey to Middelvlei we had a picnic lunch at Oude Libertas and then moved on to Kayamandi where the following pictures were taken.

After our journey to Kayamandi we travelled on to Rust en Vrede winefarm where we sampled the great red wines on the farm as well as enjoyed the fabulous scenery from the gardens on the farm. After our visit to Rus en Vrede we went on a short tour of the town of Stellenbosch and then returned back to Cape Town where I unfortunately had to bid farewell to these two great guys.

WHAT A DAY!

It really was fantastic to tour with Alex and Brian. They both brought much to the tour with their own personal insights. They were very open to want to learn about all around them and in my opinion they certainly did so. For me the tour was a very happy one as I enjoyed both Alex and Brian's company from the minute we met. I cant deny that at one stage I was worried that I might not get to know them better after their bad first day nausea experience. Happily all turned out for the best and I got to know both of them very well as we travelled through the Cape Town region. This truly was a privilege for me.

THANKS GUYS

IT TRULY WAS GREAT HAVING YOU ON BOARD

Received 27 February 2003

Thanks again, Selwyn, for a great time! Alex and I have been back in
the States catching up with our lives after our absence. Still working
on assembling our website of the trip, but you can see it coming
together at http://groups.msn.com/schultzinseattle/africa.msnw
Right now, the only pictures that are up are from our safari, and
they're not quite in order or labeled properly, but if you check back
over time things will improve. :)

Btw, the Black & White shots I took in Kayamandi came out great. I'll
have to email you the compressed version of those pics.

Take care,
Brian
