I met this lovely young Italian couple at Cape Town airport and after making ourselves acquainted we went off to Signal Hill where we watched a typical Cape sunset and I took the below picture.

After our stop at Signal Hill we travelled down to the Portswood Lodge where Alessandra and Lorenzo booked in. I returned to collect them an hour later and then we went off to the Africa Cafe for dinner

Cape Peninsula tour

On this day we set out to see the Cape Peninsula and even though the weather was not the best to do the tour in we had a great time as the below pictures show.

We started our tour at the Green Point lighthouse where the dynamic Thabiza showed us around.

After our journey through the lighthouse we started to travel along the Cape Peninsula.

We travelled on to Cape Point. We had takeout lunch at Bordjiesrif.  While on the Cape of Good Hope Reserve the below photos were taken

After Cape Point we went to "the statues" where I took the below photo of Alessandra

We travelled on to Paarl and took this photo at the Afrikaans language monument.

We had light lunch at Cotage Fromage in the Franschhoek region .

We followed lunch with dessert at Hillcrest Berry farm where this photo was taken.

We then travelled on to Stellenbosch and visited the town as well as the township of Kayamandi.

Alessandra and Lorenzo admire the "aqaurium" at Nozandile's creche.

The young couple pose with the kids of Kayamandi as well a Umzwaki Ntonyake who accompanied us through Kayamandi.

After our journey through Kayamandi we returned to the Cape Town airport where we unfortuantely had to say our farewells with Allesandra and Lorenzo leaving for the Seychelles.

Alessandra and Lorenzo were a very intelligent young couple to travel with. We had great fun together and all in all I think our tour was a very successful one. It was also very interesting to do comparisons of what was happening in Italy and what was happening in South Africa. This fact certainly made the tour a fascinating one for me.

Dear Selwyn,

Here we are, back to work....and again in front of the computer...
but it was a very nice surprise to have a look at your web site and
see "our" web page! The pictures are really beautiful and the things
you wrote about us are very nice and kind of you!

Once again we wanted to tell you that we really had a wonderful time
in Cape Town and I really feel that although the time was short
thanks to you we had quite an insight into Cape Town's life. I really
hope to have a chance to come back!

Hope to hear from you soon,
Take care,
Alessandra and Lorenzo

p.s I'll let you know if the protea will ever grow from the seeds we brought!!!
