I met Rob and Lizz at the Table Mountain Lodge guesthouse and after short period of getting to know one another we travelled into the Bo-Kaap area where I took the following picture in front of a "tablecoth" covered Table Mountain.

After a short tour of the Cape Town city centre we travelled on to Stellenbosch and stopped at Mooiberg strawberry farm where I took this picture of Rob and Lizz amongst the local scarecrows.

We visited Rust en Vrede winefarm where I took this photo of the young couple after a winetasting

We travelled into Stellenbosch and toured the town before stopping in for a pancake lunch at De Zoete Inval

After lunch we travelled on to Kayamandi where the following photos were taken.

Rob's parents, Andy and Fiona Gordon had traveled with me a in October 2003 and when returning to the UK Andy very kindly managed to pull off the amazing coup of obtaining the kit of the Liverpool soccer team after one of their matches. The Liverpool club donated the various items to the Liverpool mad soccer fans in Kayamandi. Rob and Lizz brought the kit over with them from the UK.  Mzwake and I decided that the best way to hand out these precious items to Kayamandians was to have a penalty goal shootout competition for all the people of Kayamandi. This shootout is to take place in middle January. It is expected that more than a 1000 boys, girls, men and women will compete for the jerseys and other parts of the kit. Keep your eye on my website for pictures of the big day!

In the above picture some of the kit can be seen on youngsters at the Ikamva Lethu centre

While at the Ikamva Lethu center we were entertained by the choir group Bani Bagoto (Children of peace) and as the pictures show we all had a lot of fun together.

We left Kayamandi and as Table mountain was closed due to high winds we forewent the opportunity to travel back to Cape Town and rather spent an amazing evening at the restaurant Moyo, where we had an fabulous evening of dinner, dance, music and general African entertainment.

We left Moyo at 23h15 and returned back to Cape Town after midnight where I with a very heavy heart said goodbye to this wonderful couple as they continued their travels throughout the Cape Province.

This was a day that I wont forget to easily and I suspect that Rob and Lizz wont do so either. The young Gordon's were such an easy couple to travel with and we shared so much during the day as we travelled the Winelands and its surrounds. Throughout the day we had great fun together whether it revolved around wine, the wonderful people of Kayamandi, the awesome scenery that surrounded us or the great food, entertainment and vibe at Moyo. All I can say is "what a day"!
