I met Jim and Linda at 18 on Crox and as planned we set off on a cultural experience in the Winelands.

We started our day with a visit to the Afrikaans Language Monument outside Paarl.
We spent some time at the monument going through the history of South Africa as well as enjoying some local cake and Rooibos tea.

Fun picture of Jims shades reflecting the language monument (-:)

We left the monument and on our way to Kayamandi stopped in at the Pot Belly pantry where I introduced the Wassbergs to biltong and dry sausage (droewors)

With Lily in her Kayamandi home where we enjoyed Lily's traditional cooking as well as heard her life story while we were eating

After our visit to Kayamandi we returned back to Cape Town and I unfortunately had to bid this wonderful couple farewell.

Jim and Linda were a wonderful couple to take on a cultural tour while they were in Cape Town. We had a fabulous time together with all learning a lot from one another. We were also very lucky to have had such wonderful weather wherever we went on the day. I shared much with Linda and Jim while they shared equivalently with me making our journey together a truly splendid event. Great day of touring with 2 fabulous, friendly Kansas City folk.

THANKS FOR ALL

JIM AND LINDA
