I met Charlie, Janis, Shannon and Allison at the George airport. They had just been on a wonderful safari at Mala Mala and they had lots to tell me about this adventure as we travelled on to Cape Vacca where we would be spending our first night.

We started off our journey with a great home cooked fish dinner made for us by Pieter and Katrien who look after the cottage at Cape Vacca


Janis, Charles, Shannon an Allison all settled down and ready to have dinner in front of the fire in the cottage at Cape Vacca

Brenton on Sea; The village market, Treetop safari and Stormsriver


We started our day with the foursome doing an early morning walk from Brenton on Sea to Buffalo Bay

After our walk we travelled to the Farmers Market in Sedgefield where we had breakfast and the pictures below were taken

We stopped in at "Thyme and Again" near the Keurbooms River where we picked up pies for lunch


We has great fun on Natures Valley beach as can be seen from the pictures below






On our way to the Treetop Safari Shannon took a power nap. JJ

We ended our day with a wonderful "under the stars" curry dinner at Firefly with our hosts Dell and Sancha




Travel to Cathbert Country House - Franschhoek


We drove from Knysna to Cathbert via the N2 and N1 and arrived at Cathbert Country House at 17h00. After a 2 hour break we visited Pierre Hendriks at Les Bon Vivant in Franshhoek.

Winelands and Township

On leaving the Afrikaans language monument we had a car breakdown (bearing break) and after about an hour, while the foursome had coffee, the car was repaired and we were back on our touring way.


We moved on to Seidelberg winefarm where we visited the glass factory and took the following pictures

We moved on to Kayamandi where we spent time at Nosandile's creche, Lily for Lunch, the Ikamva Lethu center and in Zone J

After our visit to Kayamandi we returned to Cathbert where we had a wonderful that was prepared for us by Ann Morley.
