Apologies for the wrong date on the pictures of our first day of tour

I met the Finkelstein family at their Green Point Hotel (Romney Park Hotel). We had enjoyed dinner together (with Bette) at Willoughbys the previous evening and had also been in strong contact with each other before our tour so we knew that we were going to start our journey together by doing a Cape Peninsula tour.

At the penguin colony on Boulders Beach

We stopped in at Rumbly Bay { best restaurant in the world J } where we enjoyed the view and had pies and fruit juice for lunch

After our journey to Cape Point we visited the Cape of Good Hope and then made our way back to Cape Town via Chapmans Peak , Hout Bay and the Atlantic seaboard. On arrival in Cape Town we travelled to Table Mountain which we ascended via the cable car

Day 2

Cape Winelands and Kayamandi

We started our second day by travelling to Paarl where we visited the Afrikaans language monument

At the Afrikaans language monument

We stopped in at Muratie winefarm where we enjoyed a winetasting as well as the rustic character of the winefarm

Enjoying a cheese lunch at Muratie

We moved onto Kayamandi (near Stellenbosch) where we joined Lily at her home for a friendly afternoon chat

We travelled on to the Ikamva Lethu Center where we had great fun with the children while they were going through their dancing practice

Before returning to Cape Town our last stop in Kayamandi was to visit a township choir called Kokoban

After our visit to Kayamandi we travelled onto Stellenbosch where we did a night drive tour through the wonderful town before driving back to Cape Town.

Great tour, great company, great people. The Finkelsteins were an absolute delight for me to guide while they were in Cape Town. They were an incredibly appreciative family who enjoyed all they saw and always brought their own thoughts to the table relative to what we were seeing or doing. This in turn not only made by function as their guide easier but also made it very interesting for me as they always had something of interest to contribute. All in all a wonderful tour which I enjoyed very much and can but only hope that the Stan, Jill and Maya did too.

Hi Selwyn,

We wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed the time we spent with you
(and of course, the dinner with Bette). Both tours were sensational!
Your love of your city is apparent and your knowledge, exhaustive and
authoritative. We are thrilled to have been able to see and do so much
in the short time we had for the visit. And we all want to come back.

In the meantime, I will see if I can drum up some clients for you from
among my colleagues who will be attending the Medical Informatics
Congress next September.

Our weekend in Victoria Falls was wonderful. The weather was great and
there was excellent visibility of the Falls. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Zimbabwe of the Falls to anyone who may be interested in going.

We only had internet access for a few hours there, so we are only now
able to see the photos that you posted on your blog. Between your
photos and ours, we have an excellent account of our activities.

Thanks again for everything.

All the best,

Stan (& Jill & Maya)
