I met Paul and Janet at the Cullinan Hotel and after spending about 40 minutes of time getting to know one another as well as going through the history of South Africa we travelled out to Paarl in the Cape Winelands

Paul and Janet at the Afrikaans language monument

We stopped in at Cotage Fromage where I must say Janet's facial expression belied the wonderful food we had at the restaurant JJ

We moved on to Middlevlei winefarm where the next two photos were taken.

After our journey to Middelvlei we moved on to Kayamandi

With Nosandile Bossie and her family and neighbours

After our visit to Kayamandi we travelled back to Cape Town where I said good bye to the Hagerty's outside of Hildebrand's restaurant in the Waterfront

Touring with Paul and Janet was a wonderful experience. Both of the Hagerty's were always great company and they both had a wonderful positive outlook about what was happening in South Africa. Their enthusiasm for life was contagious and on many an occasion while on tour I just looked at them in amazement to see their boundless energy. With their wonderful attitude to traveling this was a most pleasurable and enjoyable touring couple for me to guide and the only pity was that we only had one day to spend together..

Paul and Janet
thanks for the wonderful experience for me of having me be your guide in the Cape Winelands.

Hi Selwyn,

Many, many thanks for the wonderful day we spent with you. It was truly memorable.

The photographs on the website are very good - did you really have to put my sad face on the web? Only joking!!

Hope the voice message works - I have just tried it and although it played I got an error message so hope it plays OK for you.

With very best wishes.

Hi Selwyn,

I wan`t to add my thanks, to Janet's voice mail, for the wonderful day we had with you.

We really did have a great holiday with all that magnificent scenery and nice friendly people, BUT the highlight was the time we spent in Kayamundi.

We feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to meet your friends in the township and to have been made to feel so welcome.

Please tell them that we will never forget them and will think of them often particularly Shumi.

Best regards, together with the hope that we may meet once again some day.
