I met this mother and daughter duo at their hotel (Cape Heritage) in the middle of Cape Town and as we had not had much email communication before meeting up we spent some time evaluating what to do on the day. We decided that it was a perfect day to do a Peninsula tour and set off on this journey accordingly.

We started our day at the Biscuit Mill where we joined many locals in the wonderful food market. As can be seen by the next pictures we had a wonderful time at the market.

These were the sandwiches we bought for lunch to be enjoyed later on in the day.

We travelled through the southern suburbs of Cape Town passing places like Newlands, Claremont, Constantia, Muizenberg  and eventually landed up in Simonstown where we met Just Nuisance.

Yup we made it to Cape Point.

This was an amazing mother and daughter duo to travel with. Can one go wrong with such wonderful ladies? Never! Allison and Joan complimented each other very well and I found it to be a great experience to tour them through the greater part of Cape Town. We had a fabulous day together and as I can only talk for myself I know that I had a great time hence I believe that Joan and Allison enjoyed themselves immensely too. Overall this certainly was a great touring day.

THANKS A TON FOR YOUR WONDERFUL COMPANY

Hi Selwyn,

Allison and I had an awesome trip to South Africa. You were a big part of our adventure on Saturday, Oct1. I wanted to thank you again and send you the link to our photo album. Maybe you can download some photos from our day together. What Allison and I talked about the most was your willingness to talk about any subject. We learned so much about the history of apartheid, and the hope for post apartheid. We were fascinated by you and your wife and your dedication to promoting "passion" in students for science once again. Good luck to both of you in the future. Amusing that we have so many pictures of the Biscuit Mill food fair. Shows how much we love food. Visiting the Cape of Good Hope/Cape Point was a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you. Really your stories along the way made the trip so personal; it is obvious the pride you have in South Africa.

Thank you for recommending Jenny to accompany us to the township of Khayelitsha. She is a true professional and humanitarian. You can see from our photo album, we were quite moved by our visit. You had briefed us on your work in the townships and we got to see some of the hope Jenny is bringing to especially the young people. We did not get Jenny's email address. We would really appreciate it if you would forward this email to her. We want her to know how much we really appreciated her effort that
day. Could you or Jenny send us an address we could send funds to that would help in this cause? We have friends that would like to contribute also.

Selwyn, if you ever visit the US again, please contact us. We would like to show you around our home cities. I live with my husband Jerry in Scottsdale, Arizona. Allison lives with her husband John and kids Tyler(5) and Brooke(3) in San Jose, California. We would love to see you and your wife.
