I met Liz and Fred at Avanti guesthouse. After becoming acquainted we set out on a Cape Peninsula tour
After travelling through the southern suburbs and Muizenberg we stopped in at Simonstown and visited Just Nuisance
At the Gogo's biltong shop we met up with the owners Sam and Deidre
Great picture of Liz at the penguin colony but NOT with penguins but cormorants in the background
Liz and Fred at Cape Pint with the Cape of Good Hope in the background
Fred after ascending the stairs up to the Cape Point defunct lighthouse
At the most south western point of Africa.
We returned to Cape Town and I dropped Liz and Fred off at the Africa Cafe for dinner
Day 2
Cultural tour
We started our day with a visit to the Afrikaans Language monument
Wandering in the gardens of the Afrikaans language monument
Fred and Liz overshadowed by the Afrikaans language monument
With Shumi Ndlebe and and her children Dudu and Charles in \her Kayamandi home
Watching the Masakhane kids dancing at the Ikamva Lethu Centre
Having fun with the "Trash for fruit" kids in Zone J
Spending time with Onezwa and her family before leaving Zone J and Kayamandi
We returned to Cape Town and went to the Sea Point Spur for a burger dinner.
It was wonderful to travel with such a "keen to learn" couple like Fred and Liz. At all times they showed enormous interest as to what was happening in Kayamandi and South Africa. We shared lots together and overall enjoyed a wonderful 2 days in each others company. This really was a free and easy going journey on our days together where I enjoyed immensely and can but only hope that Fred and Liz did so too.
THANKS FOR A GREAT DAY
FRED AND LIZ.
