I met Susan and Richard at their guesthouse in Cape Town viz. AtlanticView. After a short period of becoming acquainted with each other we set out on a Cape Peninsula tour.

We travelled through Camps  Bay and Sea Point taking in some of the many hidden secrets af the area. We passed the city centre and stopped at District 6 to share the history of the area. We then travelled to the Baxter theatre on the UCT campus as well as paid a visit to the campus.

We stopped at Muizenberg where I took the above photo of the Luby's

While in Kalk bay we visited the Treasure Mile bric and brac road and also had lunch at Matisse restaurant

We travelled on to the penguin colony at Boulders Beach

We travelled on to the Cape of Good Hope nature Reserve and eventually Cape Point where I took the next pictures.

The brave Luby's  JJ and a local Chacma baboon at Cape Point

After our visit to Cape Point me started travelling toward Cape Town and stopped in at "The Statues" where I took the below picture of Susan with her African elephant friend. JJ

Sunset at Kommetjie.

We travelled back to Cape Town via Chapmans Peak, Llandudno and Camps Bay. On arrival in Cape Town we visited the Africa cafe for a wonderful evening of great local food and music.

The Luby's were very easy to travel with. They took each spot we travelled to their own uncomplicated and easy manner. We had lots in common which all unfolded as we travelled and which certainly made for a great day that I know I enjoyed immensely and I sense that Richard and Susan did too. Fab day!

Dear Selwyn,

We are finally home and beginning to come out of our jet lag. It was so
good to find your message awaiting us! Our trip to South Africa was
absolutely wonderful and our day with you truly the high point. It was
such a pleasure to travel with you and learn from you and laugh with
you. We also really appreciate your staying in such close touch with us
throughout our entire journey. Your recommendations were all fabulous
and you made us feel taken care of in the nicest possible way.

We hope that we'll get to see you again before too long, either in Cape
Town or North Carolina or somewhere in between. In the meantime, let's hope for all good things in your country and in ours.

With thanks and love~
Susan and Richard
