I met Janice at her place of stay in Long Street Cape Town. After doing short tour of the city centre we travelled on to the Cape Winelands.

We stopped at Plattekloof where I took this picture of Janice with the greater Cape Town region behind her

We travelled on to the Afrikaans Language Monument in Paarl

An unusual picture of the Language Monument in the background of Janice and a king Protea plant

The view from the Language Monument was wonderful

We stopped in at the wonderful cottage restaurant, Cotage Fromage, for a soup and cheese lunch.
There certainly was enough food to eat as can be seen from this picture of Janice in the restaurant. JJ

We traveled on to Muratie winefarm where we enjoyed an excellent winetasting.

After our journey to Muratie we visited to the town of Stellenbosch and then moved on to the township of Kayamandi.

Dancing with the young choir

After our wonderful experience with Bana Ba Kgotso we visited Samkelo and his mother at their shack. here we see the young Samkelo posing very proudly with Janice in his bedroom.

After our visit to Kayamandi we traveled back to Cape Town where we went for dinner to the Africa Cafe

Enjoying the singing and dancing of the Africa Cafe staff

What an African feast!  JJ

This was a wonderful day for me as a tourguide as I found Janice to be person with a huge sense of social morality and as a result of this our time together especially at the Afrikaans language monument as well as in Kayamandi was extra special.  Janice was definitely "my kind of travel person" and we clicked instantaneously after starting our travels. What a day this turned out to be and I have a strong feeling that Janice felt similarly.

Dear Selwyn,

I can't thank you enough for your hospitality and wonderful tour! It was truly the highlight of my South Africa trip. We had so many great moments that day from the conversation to the great meals and of course meeting the people of Kayamandi.

I will never forget you or the fabulous day we shared!!
