I met Francois and Christiane at the guesthouse. We spent some time becoming acquainted and after doing so set out on a Cape Peninsula tour. We first attempted to ascend Table Mountain however the mountain was closed due to high winds. We then moved out onto the Peninsula

Day 2
Wine country + Overberg district tour
We started our day by visiting Muratie winefarm.
In the above and below pictures Francois and Christiane can be seen in the
Muratie homestead gardens
We travelled on to Stellenbosch where we did a short tour of the town before moving onto Kayamandi
WIth some of the children in Zone J that we met up with
After our visit to Kayamandi we set out on the road past Somerset West, Gordons Bay, Kleinmond, (where we had boerewors rolls for lunch) and then back to the Franschhoek Pass. On arrival at the pass we fund that the road had been closed for repairs so we had to take a long route via Viliersdorp and Worcester back to Franschhoek where I bade farewell to the wonderful couple as they were over-nighting in Franschhoek that evening.
Francois and Christiane were a class act. What a great couple. There was a communication hassle with Christiane in the beginning of our tour, as she does not speak too much English, however we learnt how to cope with this and with Francois interpreting as we travelled we truly had a fabulous time together. Francois in his own right must be amongst the 5 most interesting people I have ever travelled with. What a great pleasure it was to travel around the Cape Town region with such a great couple.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR
ALL
