I met Pat and Aaron at their hotel in Cape Town and after a certain amount of deliberation we decided to drive to Hermanus with the main intention of the journey being so hopefully see the whales in the Walker Bay area.

At one stage we were getting worried that we might not see any whales. We moved on the Severs Point area and suddenly we had whales right in front of us. They were breaching, spyhopping, lobtailing and simply having  great time in the water. We were enjoying ourselves similarly as the below  pictures show.

On our returning to Cape Town I took this picture of Pat and Aaron on a very windy Sir Lowry's pass at sunset.

A magnificent Cape Town at sunset from Sir Lowry's pass.

On arrival in Cape Town we took a short break and then moved on to the Africa Cafe where we had a fabulous evening of good local food and music.

This was a great mother and son duo to tour with. They were both interesting people who certainly brought much more to our tour so as to make the journey such a fabulous one. Throughout our time together we had a great time and good fun was had by all.  In summary this truly was a wonderful day with some wonderful folk from Yorkshire. (One just cant go wrong when electing to travel with the wonderful people of this great English county)

THANKS PAT AND AARON

FOR THE GREAT DAY WE HAD TOGETHER

Hi Selwyn

Just a quick email to say we are home safe and well. I have already spoken with some friends re toys and clothes and hopefully will send a parcel soon. Really enjoyed our holiday apart from Johannesburg which I hated but Cape town was fabulous. Thanks for helping to make that so.

Take care

Hi Selwyn

Sorry I have not been able to get back to you properly since our return home. Got to you at last. Been working on some legal documents which had to be in on a very short timescale. Just put finishing touches to them !!

Aaron and I really enjoyed our trip with you. Aaron enjoyed talking about rugby, a shared love. I do like watching it too. We both thought the whales were great and love the photo of us with Wilson the Hermanus whale crier. I think you are lucky to have such a job. We didn't like Johannesburg but loved Cape Town, your love of your home city brought it to life for us. It was good to hear about the people who live there. It's a beautiful place to live in. I would have liked to spend more time with you as I feel we just touched a spot and missed so much. All of our friends have enjoyed seeing our excellent photos on your website and we have put them into a powerpoint presentation so we can print them off for our album. Thanks Selwyn. Great to have some of me and Aaron together. I have talked with friends re getting things together for the children of Kayamandi and have got a bag of clothes so far so will get it sent to you soon. Other friends are sorting toys out so fingers crossed. See how we go with that one.

Anyway Selwyn, not sure about Aaron coming back with me to Cape Town, but I hope to make the trip one day to catch up on what I missed so I hope you will be around then to help me along the way. Good to have a new friend in a new country. Keep in touch.

Love Pat and Aaron xx
