Janet called me on the 26th of May telling me that Alison and Larry Verkade had suggested that I tour with her, Bobbe and Steve so we arranged to go on a winelands/township tour. We met up early on the 27th at their place of stay viz, Harbour Terrace and started on our journey.
We stopped at the Afrikaans Language monument and had fun looking at Amashushu's in the monument shop
Janet and Steve in front of the Afrikaans Language Monument
We travelled on to Cotage Fromage in the Franschhoek wine region for lunch
While stopping in at Mooiberg farm stall the Poses had an opportunity
to tasted witblits. (Moonshine)
I suppose the facial expressions tell you what the witblits tasted like. JJ
We stopped in at Rust en Vrede winefarm where after a winetasting we enjoyed looking at the Cape Dutch houses on the farm as well as all the magnificent scenery.
After a short tour of Stellenbosch we visited the township of Kayamndi
Watching the ladies of the township cooking sheep head
Steve met a girlfriend in the form of Nomasatu JJ
Playing with the kids in Kayamandi
Enjoying the company of Nosandile and Mzwake in Nozandile's shack home
Having great fun with Bana ba Kgotso (Children of peace)
We returned to Stellenbosh after leaving Kayamandi so that I could introduce Bobbe to the Cafe Cat
We travelled back to Cape Town and went to the Africa Cafe for an African feast where I took the following two pictures of the Poses family enjoying the food and entertainment at the restaurant
Serendipity is the word that comes to mind when it comes to this ay that I traveled with the Poses family. Thank heavens they met the Verkades in Sabi Sands who suggested I tour with them as they were such great folk to tour with. Everybody had their bit to contribute to making this a wonderful day which I thoroughly enjoyed and can but only hope that Bobbe, Janet and Steve enjoyed too.
Thanks for a great day

How are you? Thanks for a great day around Cape Town. The day after we toured with you we managed an abridged version of Robben Island. It was very worthwhile.
Just 2 days after returning from the trip I had the opportunity to meet De
Klerk and hear him speak in San Francisco, last week. Amazing experience.
Your web site is great. It is fun to see the pictures.
Also, I just had a hard time finding your email address on your web site.
Have you thought of adding Contact Us to the footer or do you want it a bit more buried so people will do more research before emailing you?
