I met Carol and Thorstein at Gklean Avon Lodge and we set out on a SA cuture/township journey

We strated our journey at the Afrikaans Language Monument near Paarl

We moved on to Kayamandi and stopped in at the Isibane Sempumulelo creche where Carol and Thorstein had lots of fun with the kids in the creche as can be seen from the pictures below

We visited Lily at her home where she entertained us to a wonderful traditional Xhosa lunch spread

Our last stop was at the Ikamva Lethu Centre where we joined Bani Bagotso (Children of peace) in a wonderful finale experience of a township visit for Carol and Thorstein

What a wonderful day this turned out to be. I had so much in common with Carol and Thorstein that from the minute that we met I knew that this was going to be a great journey. Kayamandi was a super special event for us all especially when Bani Bogosto entertained us so wonderfully at the end of our journey. Carol and Thorstein simply went with the flow in all that we did and it seemed as if we clicked on all our ideas and thoughts. This in turn resulted in a fabulous day for us all.

Hi Selwyn

Yes we have arrived safely back home - to snow snow and more snow - there is
about 1.5 meters in the garden!!!. Thorstein is shovelling snow as we speak
- it snowed some more last night. We arrived back Sunday afternoon and
haven't had much time to think as work called on Monday.

THANK YOU for such a fantastic trip to Kayamandi - it was absolutely amazing
- so many impressions, thoughts, feelings and wonderful people - it will
take time to assimilate - but we have already started enjoying talking about
the trip and remembering the different impressions we had.

The family as well as Sylvia and all my other work colleagues had already
been onto your site and seen the photos before we got home - that was a
great feeling - it was like sharing the experience with them!

We wish you and the people of Kayamandi lots of luck and good fortune with
all the projects. I am looking forward to when you post the pictures and
details of the kids who need a place at crèche on your website - we are
interested in sponsoring. As we agreed - education is the way forward. You
do have an absolutely wonderful country and the fact that you have come to
far and are on track is just great - I can assure you we are passing the
word on and only hope that we and others can help - if not South Africa -
perhaps a small part of it - Kayamandi.

Once again thank you and continue the great work

Kindest regards
Carol & Thorstein
