I met the Shustek family at their guesthouse (Davids) in Cape Town and as I had done a lot of pre-tour planning with Barbara we were all set and started our tour by going on a cultural experience through the Cape Town region
We first stopped at the Afrikaans language monument which was enshrouded in mist but certainly viewable. After our visit to the monument we moved on to the township of Kayamandi which is situated just outside of Stellenbosch

A great day with some awesome people!!
The Shusteks were a happy, friendly group to have on tour with me for two days We had lost of fun together and shared lots about South Africa as a country and Cape Town as a city. This all made for a fabulous journey through Cape Town and its surrounds. It also was very encouraging to hear Beth tell me at the end of the family journey that she wanted to come back to Kayamandi so as to work and stay in the township for 2-3 weeks. All in all this was a fabulous tour for me to conduct and it certainly went down as a very memorable event
THANK YOU
Russ, Barbara, Sara and Beth
for such a great 2 days.

Hello Selwyn,
Thank you so much for the photos on the website. They were great and a nice addition to our photos. I'll print them once Beth or Sara teach me how!!!
Meeting you and seeing your great city was the perfect start of our trip. We cannot stop talking about it and trying to relieve the moments. The many hours we spent in Kayamandi and meeting your wonderful friends was so moving and eye opening. We applaud you for your hard work in improving Kayamandi. It was the highlight of our trip. Thank you so much for allowing us to be part of it.
We all got over our colds in due time and dried out in Durban. The rest of our trip was fabulous and a dream come true. We all hope to return to South Africa some day. Hopefully Beth will be able to come next year. If you're ever in the Seattle area we would love to see you and show you our lovely city. Thank you again for everything.
Best wishes to you.
Love, Barbara, Russ, Beth and Sara
