The Sloan family from New York say goodbye to Cape Town by doing the Table Mountain shuffle.
What an awesome, awesome family the Sloans were to tour with. It was a fun a minute ride for all on board and in the process much was learnt about Cape Town. Together we shared so much and did this all in the most enjoyable manner. This was a ride of a lifetime for me and it is going to be very, very hard to forget my time with the Sloans from New York. A really "shop" tour. JJ
THANKS FOR THE WONDERFUL TIME WE SPENT TOGETHER

Received 7 March 2007
Selwyn, my friend.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt note. It was very much appreciated and very moving. I continue to bask in it's afterglow.
I want you to know that the bond we formed with you--the emotion and
affection that you so eloquently expressed-- not only touched us as human
beings, but elevated our Cape Town experience and the richness our trip
beyond our wildest expectations. My kids absolutely ADORE you. Your ability to charm, engage, entertain, command their respect and simultaneously educate them was an amazing site to behold. I honestly cannot remember anyone who made such "fast friends" of them in the absence of presents or bribery. There was immediately a void felt by the entire family when you were "gone" You are a presence to be reckoned with!
I, for one, was extremely moved by the way you cared for us when leaving the wedding. As I said to Wyndy when we drove off, "Selwyn is a mensch of the highest order."
I must confess that I was quite nervous when the first few stops of our trip
went from butterfly farm to cheese restaurant to smoothie store. BUT THEN THE TOWNSHIP JUST TORE THE ROOF OFF. The enjoyment and richness of my trip just skyrocketed at that point and it never let up. If you¹ll pardon the cliché, they are memories that I'll cherish forever. Simply
irreplaceable. "Shop!"
Our only regret is that we never got your ass at a blackjack table. (-:)
Go well and in peace.
I hope that somehow our paths will cross again.
Should you ever need it, remember that you've got 5 good friends in NYC.
Warmest Regards,
Cliff Sloan
