I met this fabulous foursome at the places of stay in Sea Point and we set off on a city tour followed by a township visit to Kayamndi. Everybody was in a very happy mood because Scotland had beaten France 20-16 the day before in the 6 Nations rugby contest so the atmosphere in the vehicle was very, very jolly. JJ
Message to Andy Gordon
(who thankfully introduced me to this fab foursome) from David and Alfie

We started off by doing a short tour of Sea Point before moving into the city and ascending Signal Hill.
We ascended Signal Hill where I took the above photo of Patricia & Joan and the below photo of Alfie & David
We stopped in at the Mount Nelson Hotel where we enjoyed the colonial atmosphere of the establishment as well as sat down to have some drinks in the cool shade of the "Nellies" gardens.
I just could not resist taking this picture of PaTrisha while walking through the streets of Cape Town JJ
We visited the St.Georges Cathedral as well as some other interesting places in the city before we started to move on towards Kayamandi in Stellenbosch
We started our journey by visiting Lily at here home where she served as a delicious traditional Xhosa lunch and told us all about her life as a Xhosa lady living in a township.

Tulele (Lily's daughter) joined us for a group photo
We moved on to Nosandile's shack/home where we had some wonderful fun with the local kids who all came to see who was visiting Nosandile.

This foursome was a wonderful group to travel with . We had a great time together and I enjoyed touring with them immensely. Just looking at all the smiling faces on this page certainly tell a story. I can but only hope that the foursome enjoyed the tour as much as I did and I certainly believe that our journey gave them some good insights into what Cape Town and all its peoples are truly about.
THANKS YOU THANK YOU
Patricia, David, Alfie and Joan.

Dear Selwyn
David and I are now shiverering back in East Calder after our most fantastic
holiday in SA. It was all I dreamt it would be and more. I can hardly wait
to come back.
Our day with you was one we will remember for a very long time. What an
experience you gave us and we have so many happy memories of the day we
spent with you. Our visit to Kayamandi and Lily's house was a wonderful
experience. I wonder how the elections will go. Thank you also for the
photos which are super.
We had a very nice trip down the Grarden Route and also visited some
beautiful vineyards and tasted some great wines all in the most glorious
sunshine. You really do have it all out there at this time of the year.
The rugby was a bit of a disappointment but we are now thinking about next
Saturday and the Calcutta cup. David will be away skiing but I will record
it for him.
Once again Selwyn many many thanks for showing us your beautiful city and
Kayamandi - I will certainly reommend you to anyone I know that is coming
out to Cape Town.
Best wishes
Patricia and David
